Sprague was awarded the Joe Kane Distinguished Service Award at the New Hampshire Golf Hall of Fame Ceremony held at Manchester Country Club on November 2, 2023 for his years of service to the game in New England and being an ambassador for golf in New Hampshire.
Sprague’s history with golf goes back over 30 years. He began his career in golf as a PGA TOUR caddy during the 1989 and 1990 seasons. He joined the Rhode Island Golf Association staff as Tournament Director in 1992 and later became RIGA Executive Director in 1999. He moved on to become the Mass Golf Executive Director in 2007 before becoming a USGA Regional Affairs Director in 2023. Currently he serves as the Regional Collaboration & Strategy Director for all New England Allied Golf Associations, including the New Hampshire Golf Association.
Sprague has been a great ambassador for the game of golf here in New Hampshire and became good friends with Joe Kane through his years with Mass Golf and at the USGA.
The New Hampshire Golf Hall of Fame is dedicated to the preservation of golf’s history in the Granite State. It is a way to honor deserving men and women who have made an impact on golf in New Hampshire either through amateur golf achievements, professional golf accomplishments, or contributions to the game in a non-playing capacity.
